We schedule a phone or Zoom call to get to know you and your book. You get to know us too! This call takes about 15-30 minutes and is scheduled at your convenience.
Now, we research and begin to work on your cover design. Generally in about 2 weeks or less, you will receive anywhere from 5-7 cover concepts (or more, our designer's record is 26!). The design guides the job, and sometimes it says more, and sometimes, it says less.
A Zoom call is set, to go over the designs together. During the call, the designer makes changes in real-time or we discuss changes I will make offline via a call if necessary.
Yay! Now we are done tweaking the cover and you have a final design. From here the back cover, spine and final print-ready files are done.
First we start off with a phone or Zoom call so I can get to you know you and your manuscript. And, you can get to know me too! This call takes about 15-30 minutes and is scheduled at your convenience.
I create three interior design options using one to two chapters of your manuscript. In the options I will create three different treatments for the typefaces, header, footer, subhead and other design considerations.
We schedule a Zoom call to go over the designs. You will decide typefaces, headers, footers and other elements you were presented in the interior design options. This is many times an interactive process where you can see options on in real time.
I complete the interior layout and present it to you for final proofing. At this step you are making small changes to the content, if any, and proofing for any design/layout mistakes.
Step Five
I make the changes you submitted to me and provide you with a final, print-ready interior file.
Includes layout of front matter, manuscript, back matter
Includes stock photography/graphics if applicable and inclusion of any graphics supplied by the author
Revisions until you are satisfied the interior meets the vision for your book. If you completely change the agreed-upon concept direction, there will be an additional charge.

Currently, Riley-Infinity only provides editorial services in the English language. This may change in the future, so feel free to inquire.
Riley-Infinity’s editing service caters to authors. The freelance professionals on our platform have experience in the publishing business. For that reason, they rarely accept requests to edit dissertations, term papers, or academic texts that are not intended for commercial publication. However, some of our academic and reference nonfiction editors might be open to editing other projects, so don’t hesitate to reach out for a quote!
Half of the design fee is due when the agreement is signed and the balance is due when the editing is complete.

The interior file (most likely an Adobe InDesign file) created for your paperback is typically used as the basis for your eBook.
If you do not have access to your InDesign file, an eBook can also be created from a Microsoft Word document.
There are two types of eBooks, reflowable and fixed.
A reflowable eBook, the most common, is basically a web page, consisting of HTML and CSS code. The text and images “flow” with the size of the device used to view the eBook and the fonts change in size as well.
Because of the reflowable nature of the eBook, not all the formatting created for the print version of your book is supported in the reflowable eBook version.
Some examples of unsupported formatting include: Exact vertical spacing, ie, starting the text at a specific vertical space on the “page”. Fonts are typically embedded but not supported on all devices.
This means that on some devices, the fonts chosen for the eBook will revert to the default fonts available on the device. The size of the fonts used throughout will change because, on all eBook devices, the reader has control over the size of the type. Because of this, exact spacing, hyphenation, line breaks cannot be controlled.
Images in reflowable eBooks resize to work with the device it is being viewed on as well as the size of the type chosen by the reader. Because of this, the exact placement and size of images are greatly restricted. Lines, boxes, and shading behind the text are not supported.
Reflowable eBooks must include a hyperlinked table of contents. And, to make those work properly, many times, the configuration of the chapter start pages may need to vary from the paperback version.
Footnotes and endnotes are areas of concern for reflowable eBooks. They must be linked via hyperlink to the reference point AND the reference point MUST link back to the text.
Children’s books, art and photography books, and other highly designed books are candidates for fixed eBooks.

More than 70 million adults in the US alone have completed at least one audiobook in the last year, which is a 25% increase since 2015
Audiobook listeners also tend towards being college-educated, with a trend towards a median income over $75K per year.
The increase in sales is driven in large part by a listening audience that continues to grow, largely due to the portability of audio. After all, you can listen anywhere!
